BREAKING: Court sentences Cameroonian help to death by hanging for boss’ murder

The Lagos State High Court in Igbosere has sentenced a Cameroonian home help, Leudjoe Koyemen Joel, to death for murdering a Nigerian employer, Mrs Dayo Adeleke.

In a judgment delivered on Tuesday morning, two years and five months after the crime, Justice Adedayo Akintoye convicted Joel and ordered that he be hanged to death.

The judge held that the prosecution proved beyond a reasonable doubt a count of murder pressed by the state against the Cameroonian.

The prosecution had in the charge told the court that Joel murdered Adeleke on December 20, 2016, at her Parkview Estate, Ikoyi, Lagos home.

Cook who killed his boss, 2 months to her wedding, sentenced to death . Leudjou Koyemen Joel, the Cameroonian cook who stabbed his boss, Dayo Adeleke, to death on December 20, 2016, has been sentenced to death by a Lagos High Court sitting in Igbosere.

Joel stabbed Adeleke in the neck and heart because she allegedly refused to give him a two-week salary advance which he requested for earlier that morning.

The refugee from Cameroon was being rehabilitated in a church in Lagos, when Adeleke employed him on compassionate grounds, following a request by the pastor of her church.

However, she was murdered, seven months after employing him and two months to her wedding in February, 2017, having been engaged 3 months earlier. – #obyorijiblog

My Opinion

You are welcome to Nigeria where you innocence strictly depends on your connections and state of origin. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not here to vindicate a murderer, I’m saying that the fact that this case involves a foreigner killing a Nigerian could not even mean that it ends like this.

It is in this same county that is forming all lawful and upright,  that a handful of Boko Haram members who have killed thousands of Northern Nigerians, they get into jail and after weeks they are released with the excuse that they have tuned a new leaf.

They to as far ass telling the nation that the Nigerian Army has absorbed these criminals. This country where people who assure called leaders make away with the money meant for the People of the country, and they publicly witch hunt the members of the opposition party while vividly protecting their own part member who has done worse.

If this guy’s has committed one murder and is about to killed, then on what ground did you forgive the group of people who killed thousands ? Why are the Boko Haram members being rehabilitated instead of facing the wrath of the law? Unbelievable..

Our innocnet faced black asian champion is out of the race? Saddening. Naomi Osaka is said to have pulled out of the Italian Open before Thursday’s quarter-finals with an injury just a week before the start of the French Open.

The 21-year-old withdrew because of a “pain in her right hand,” organisers announced.

A Boston Marathon runner writes Boston a lovely letter.

from @run.sweat – 📍 Boston Marathon| Dear Boston, You are everything. You don’t know me well yet, but I love you. This is me. I raced my first in 2017. It was the most moving event I’ve ever witnessed. More than Kona. Even more than Chamonix.

You pushed me to the the best race of my life and I fell in love. A few months later, I fell hard and fractured my lower spine. 10 dark months of healing. The most difficult part was not being able to be on the starting line in 2018.

It has been exactly one year since I’ve been able to run again. I learned this morning that I’m still a fledge. I’ve imagined this morning’s starting line during every run of this long, slow build. I wanted to run even faster. That’s what we do as human beings.

We strive until we succeed, and then we strive some more. Everything was perfect. I held back the reigns & came through the half exactly where I wanted. But then, the wheels started to fall off. Around mile 14 my legs started to seize up. First my calves.

Then my quads. I was dying. Not because of the pain – although it hurt like hell and only got worse with each step – but because I was flying, and aerobically I’ve never felt better. It was the easiest effort I’ve ever experienced, but my legs continued to seize. Trapped in my body. I felt it coming and tried to push it away, actually talking out loud to my legs, “No, no, please no.

Not now. Not here.” I could do nothing about my legs, but I still had choices. Pity? Not a chance in hell. Dropout? No, we can’t have that. Then what? I chose to love it. I stopped my watch and didn’t look at another split. Then poured my whole soul into it, loving every moment as my legs seized tighter with every step. I have too much respect to quit. The history.

The racers. The spectators, and volunteers, and organizations, and servicemen and women. I rung everything out but you broke me. I’m not weak, but you showed me how to become stronger, & I love you for it. Thank you for lifting me, and inspiring me.

To all of your beautiful fans- I can’t express the gratitude I feel. Happy tears and a full heart. I’ll return. As long as I’m breathing, I’ll keep coming back. Thank you for everything. So much love – Rivs 📸 by @t – #obyorijiblog

Arrested Abuja ‘Prostitutes’ Narrate How They Were Raped By Policemen Who Wore ‘Pure Water Sachets’ As Condoms

Some of the ladies convicted by a mobile court in Abuja, the Nigerian capital, for alleged prostitution, have spoken out about how the were raped by some of the policemen who arrested them — some without condoms and some wearing improvised “pure water sachets” as protection.

““They picked us from Banex; when they picked us from Banex, they took us to Utako. But the police station was empty; there was no policeman inside, so they told us to pull off. When we pulled off, they started… some of us they used condoms, some of us they didn’t use,” a girl said.

Another added: “Three of us were all brought out of the van and raped by the policemen because we had no money to give them. We were raped behind the National War College. The other girls were also raped by two others; one of them used a pure water sachet as condom but the other one did not.”

Mourinho eyes management comeback and third Champions League

Mourinho eyes management comeback and third Champions League
Jose Mourinho is gunning for a return to top level management and a third Champions League title, the former Real Madrid and Manchester United manager revealed on Friday in an interview with AFP.
Mourinho has been out of work since being sacked by United in December and said he would like to be appointed as a boss at a club where he can add to his European triumphs with Porto in 2003 and Inter Milan seven years later, and draw level with Zinedine Zidane, Carlo Ancelotti and Bob Paisley.
“If I can win a third Champions League, great,” the 56-year-old told AFP.
“I would like to play in the best level, which is the Champions League.
“I want to be (in the race to win the Champions League next year). Sometimes, you are not in the race, but you have to win other races.”
Mourinho, who has coached in his native Portugal as well as in England, Italy and Spain left the door open to returning to those leagues or taking over at a club elsewhere.
“I can go back to a country I’ve been before and to be honest, I have enjoyed working in every country I did,” he said.
“(Or) I can try something very important, which is to work in a fifth country and try to win everything in the fifth country like I did in the previous ones.” – #obyorijiblog – #regrann

Tani and his family lost everything after they fled their home country Nigeria in 2017 in fear of the persecution of Christians by terrorists, @nytimes reports. After Tani discovered his passion for chess, his family is $100,000 closer to gaining everything back!

Politicians have destroyed Nigeria’s educational standard — Shan George

Reposted from @shangeorgefilms – Swipe…..Can u believe that this is a public school in a nearby Africa Country? Public Schools that u and I attended. Some of us didn’t attend a private school up to university level, yet we are doing very well, regardless.
In Nigeria the politicians have gradually brought schools like this to a halt, they steal money, and bcos they have no business acumen, all they do is build hotels for themselves and schools for their wives as retirement plan.
Check all the private schools in Nigeria, 99% of them are owned by state firstladies, senators wives, etc. For their own selfish reasons a poor man’s child like me and u have no chance of getting a good education.
I am protesting this preposterous venture!
