Actor #DavidOyelowo loses Dad to #ColonCancer

Reposted from @davidoyelowo It is with a heavy heart that I bring the news of the passing of my BELOVED father. My brothers and I knew him as our protector, guardian, hero, encourager and our lovely Daddy. You probably knew him as @the_leaf_blower, because of his hilarious antics with that very noisy device! You wouldn’t know it, but my Dad had been in a years long battle with colon cancer. My heart is at peace because his pain is now over and the real victory has been won because I know he is now with his Lord and savior, Jesus Christ. He fought so hard to stick around for me, my brothers and his grandchildren. He would often say to me. “God has so much in store for you, and I want to be here to see it”. My last conversation with my Dad, as he fought through the pain, went like this. ME: Daddy I love you and it’s okay to let go. Are you ready to go and be with mummy now? MY DAD: Yes! He passed away peacefully this week and I truly believe he’s now reunited with my mum in heaven, and although I will never truly get over losing him, my heart is full at the thought of him with my mother again. He loved her so much. Thank you to all who loved him, “followed” him and celebrated this most transcendent of human beings. He loved you all. Giving love was his special gift, his true talent, his greatest example. Rest well, Daddy. ❤️

#Halloween2020 #RIP : #Bigsean pays tribute to the late #ChadwickBoseman

Of all the negative costumes I have seen in this year’s Halloween, nobody would have thought it wise to remember or even represent a guy whom many paid tribute to months ago for being the black hero.

Chadwick was highly remembered and missed with endless list of Tributes by fans, friends and colleagues only to find out that they forget him the moment he left. But Big Sean is remembering him and that is seriously impressive. Thank you to Big Sean for being the only one who remembered the late black super hero.

Reposted from @bigsean For my dawg Chadwick 🖤🙏🏾

#Street in #Miami to be named after #TrayvonMartin

From his untimely and yet unforgettably unfortunate death by shooting in February 2012 the circumstances surrounding the teenager’s death has been nothing short of disturbing as justice has been demanding in more ways than not for his killer.

After almost nine years of his death, a reward in form of Avenue renaming is now about to take place in Miami.

Miami Dade County Commissioners voted Tuesday to rename a portion of Northeast 16th Avenue as Trayvor Martin Avenuein honour of the 17 year old who was fatally shot in February 2012.

The commissioner Audrey Edmondson confirmed. The portion of Northeast 16th Avenue will be renamed runs from Ives Dairy Road to Northeast 209th Street .

This clearly doesn’t give the justice family and friends long for, but a legacy and a constant remind of his name will be the work of the street about to bear his name for a significant time of life.
