The reason why more people get into trouble before crossing into the new year.

Happy New year

The last hours of a year has been known to be very sensitive for many reasons. Humans have given themselves  a deadline, expecting themselves to achieve and obtain things before crossing over to the new year. The people who had sworn to be a certain thing, in a certain place and with a certain someone before the year runs out,  have it at the back of their mind that they still have the chance to carry out their goals before the strike of midnight.

Happy New year
Happy New year

Some spiritual people will always tell you that you have to be in the cross over service to usher in the new year. First of all, we are expected to pray every single day for as many times as possible, and not only cross over. Just because the year is coming to an end doesn’t mean that we now have to pray only then.

Happy New year
Happy New year

Cross over is not the only time God listens to prayers guys, he actually  listens to prayers all the time, all year round.  So many people  have held onto the crossover nights with the reason that their pastor of religious leader had told them. So, while others are home safe trying to stay out of trouble before the new year, others fight tooth and nail to make it to a far away church, in any means necessary, there by getting into all kinds of troubles.  This is a very common case in Nigeria, where People are involved in road accidents, police cases, street  fights, pick pockets, and all.

Happy New year
Happy New year

Nigerians believe that if you don’t  come together  with your church  members on the 31st night to cast, bind, and kill your enemies with prayers, then your new year won’t be as blessed as the Lord God had intended it to. This is the notion that puts people right in the spot of danger.  Over the years, people who attended cross over nights were targeted by the deadly Boko haram, or gun men, or just thieves looking to rob unsuspecting people, leading to the loss of lives.

Stepping away from the Religious ones, into the zone of SLAY mamas and papas. Some other people belief that they have to spend it in the club, or parties. With the notion that they try to drink as much alcohol as possible for some reason, which is so hard for me to understand. Why do you see the need to drink too much before the new year? Do they charge higher for the drink ?or does it taste better than it would in the new year? or does it get expired the moment the new year starts? Why do you just have to drink irresponsibly before the new year? Why? Someone needs to explain to me.

Happy New year
Happy New year

Parties and clubs or even gatherings at stadium and viewing center for sometime now, had been a very huge target for depressed and gun violent, religious fanatics in 2017.  Even before 2017, a happy crowd always draws the attention of a depressed fellow who feels the need to put people in the same bad mood that they are in.

So far, staying at home with the people you love, is the only option, But that too, is not a guarantee. People have come in contact with unimaginable horrors while innocently staying home, So this doesn’t mean home is the best place. But for us humans, home is the best place for us especially me, Blogging you into the new year, because There is no Holiday for me.

While the NEWYORKERS  gather to count down, the LAGOSIANS gather to pray, parry and slay. This right here, means different strokes for different folks. So no one is in any position to tell others how to spend their cross over night, it is solemnly their choice. But where ever you are, don’t forget to be careful, make right decisions, and finally, pray to  God.

Happy New year guys…..🎉🎇🎊🎆🎂🎈

Obyorijitruth: The two types of 21st century Engagements.

Two Types of engagements

My dear awesome readers from Nigeria and other Countries, we all know that very famous thing that has taken over our life and privacy in this era as humans. It has shown  its pro’s and Con’s in our lives today, but the moment we are brave enough to start, we sell our soul, and automatically can’t stop.

Two Types of engagements
Two Types of engagements

My Dad who is not an internet addict, can go on without it forever. But for me, I dare not stay without the internet for a week. Being a blogger, I love to spend time here writing for you all, or I will simply feel sick.

Now, if the Internet  is this important to me as an individual, how about we then multiple it to the number of youths all over the world, who have enthusiastically declared that there are two lives. ‘The real life’ and ‘the social media life’.

Two Types of engagements
Two Types of engagements

The types of ENGAGEMENT, has also been termed the one planned by one, and the one planned by two or more people.

At one point in our existence, (in the 90s and early 20s), engagement was only done once, but with our internet reign, engagement now has two types:

The one where men, decide to plan it on their own and just pop the question to their girl, while their have a friend or sibling take photos and making videos for the people who were there to witness it, especially the internet guys.

Two Types of engagements
Two Types of engagements

On the other hand, some women these days, go with their guy to a jewelry store of their choice (if it is within their reach), and specifically point out the kind of ring that would suit their status. The guy buys it or they both do, he holds on to it, while they plan the right time and place to have the coincidence planned and exhibited.

These girls are easy to spot. Because even though they may cry, They have worked on their reactions for this time, for only God knows how long.

The sincere reaction gets subdued by the acting, but if you look closely, it is very clear to spot.

Two Types of engagements
Two Types of engagements

Now that we know that, it is clear to us, that there are two main type of engagement we have now. The type you used or want to use, is dependent on the partner you have chosen. As for me, I have no idea which I want. I use to think I want the planned one, but I am never sure of what I want.

Video: Kevin Hart puts aside jokes to dish advice to his fans for the new year.

kevin hart puts jokes aside to tell it like it is. #2018truth. For those people that would rather scream the problem than proffer solutions, for those people that would rather discourage your attempts, than help to build. For those who make you belief that you have to be like a certain person to please them, and for those who hang around you to serve as an informant to the opposition party, it is the to cut that thread. Lose the bond, set them free, so they can fly to another victim. In 2018, we only spend time looking at the good of every situation. #obyorijisblog #mentalhealthnigeria

Lagos State deploys over 900,000 electronically tracked waste bins.

Electronic trash truck in Lagos

According to Vanguard news,  Visionscape Group has taken delivery of a fresh batch of environment sanitation trucks to Lagos state, to be launch in the new year.

Driven from the port to one of their maintenance deport were, Compactors, trash trucks, trailer heads and other utility vehicles.

Electronic trash truck in Lagos

The Lagos State Government plans to deploy over 900,000 electronically tracked waste bins and 600 brand new compactors among other facilities to manage the over 10,000 metric tons of waste generated in the state daily.

I am honestly love the idea of the Lagos state government being clearly concerned with the waste situation of the state, that he actually makes a move towards improving it.

Electronic trash truck in Lagos
Electronic trash truck in Lagos

Even though our waste management is a big problem,  buying new things on the other hand, has never a problem in Nigeria. We as a Nation, are obsessed with importation and expensive purchases. But my in dividing concern has always been the maintenance culture of our leaders.

If this imported waste bin, and compactors get worn out and stop working in future, what then? Will the government have a maintenance system to service and repair these products when they develop faults? Or will they get another budget to just buy a brand new batch of the same thing, while the old ones sit by the road and rust in neglect, then become a bigger problem to the society than the dirt itself.

Electronic trash truck in Lagos

I really am concerned with ‘Maintenance‘ because that was my concern when we had these really new batch of eye candy BRTs, they were deliciously good looking, until they started to wear out, having broken parts, misused,  and no plans were made to fix them back up. They practically went from BRT to danfo buses in a matter of half a decade. Any body can wake up and  request for Government money to buy a new batch of public common goods. But when these goods need a little fixing and repainting, and rehabilitation, what happens then? They turn a deaf ear, and repeat the process of buying new ones all over again.

Electronic trash truck in Lagos

This has always been my problem and from the look of things, it hadn’t been fixed. Because everyday, I see things that make me wonder if this habit is only for COMMON GOODS.

Is this the way we manage out homes? Things go bad and we turn a blind eye to it, and replace it with a brand new one immediately? This needs to stop. Every day, we read about Nigeria borrowing money from foreign countries to fix one thing or the other, and then the money gets stolen by politician elected to protect it ,  no one is caught or held responsible, because they have many people involved in sharing the money, no maintenance culture, no follow ups.

Electronic trash truck in Lagos

Dear Lagos State Government, we need these things repaired and painted when the time comes, instead of replacing them.

This should be a job for Peter Obi.

Photo of the 2,000 bags of Ebonyi rice and 2,000 tubers of Ebonyi yam that were gifted to president Buhari during his visit to the state.

Rice and tubers of yam for PMB

I love the idea of gifting to anyone, especially when the “have not are being surprising generous to the haves” it is a nice gesture especially in the African culture.

These pictures depict the  2,000 bags of Ebonyi rice and 2,000 tubers of Ebonyi yam that were presented to President Muhammadu Buhari by the Government and people of Ebonyi state during his official visit on Nov. 14. 2017

But when Ebonyi state, a state known for it deficiency in basic amenities, serious case of starvation, heightened poverty which is very evident, and even lack of  government caressing hands of revenue allocation, showing no signs of care.

I can present to you endless list of people living in this same country, who would have survived on a tuber, or 15kg of rice which is not up to any bag sitting there.

What made them think that the President will feed on Ebonyi  rice and yam? What if had his rice imported into the Country? How about we find out what happened to this gifts.

Rice and tubers of yam for PMB

Was it sent to his in-laws and relatives in the North, or shared to people who already have too much money, that they can buy themselves 2000 bags of rices and a whole barn.

People (The have nots),  have formed the habit of taking every thing they have, that can keep them alive to gift to the the haves.

All in the name of looking for attention. I schooled in the east, so I can single handedly tell you that I have seen Ebonyi people living in abject poverty  in a foreign Anambra land. They never feed fine because there isn’t enough money to make ends meet, they have more kids than the wealthy.

In as much as we love the President a lot, I am of the opinion that these gifts would go a long way in helping the people of Ebonyi even if for a week.

Let’s all Help the poor, leave the rich alone, they are getting richer.

Oby Oriji fitness: The more abandoned buildings, the more crimes.

Abandoned buildings

Before we start our chat,I will need you to go outside of your home and look at the houses on your street, estate, area. Look from your left, to your right meticulously. Look to confirm, whether physically or mentally ( that is,if you can’t physically check it), if you live there, you might as well remember every Abandoned building, and you are probably  ashamed of being seen checking for an Abandoned buildings😁😁😁😁. Well that’s fine, let’s continue.

Go right  ahead and recall, if there is a building that hasn’t had tenants renting it for a while. This is because if you succeed in finding one on your street, then you are officially expected,to be extra careful to take notice of all the activities going on, in and around that building.

Abandoned building is not a structure that should be feared (even though the ones in my village, freak me out),  but if you have any around your home, it is only safe to have you, your family, friends and your kids  take note of the activities taking place  in that particular building, and avoid it. It will be better to call the cops, but then again, you might be mistaking.

If you have a neighbourhood watch, they as well, should be made to frequent the abandoned buildings for the sake of normalcy.

“City Law breakers watch’, has over the years,  given us every reasons to believe that crime rates increases, with an increase in abandoned buildings.

Criminals are quick to identify a building that has been abandoned for a while, and is available for their evil deeds. Thus is because their mindset is all about being smart for the negatives Alone. While you see it ad a building that needs to be occupied, they see it as a tool to be used, before it gets occupied.

Since crime is not what anyone is particularly proud to be identified by, people who do them, feel a lot better when they are in their privacy.

If they don’t live alone, and have neighbours, then they go in search of an abandoned building to carry out their criminal dealings. The possibility of ghost activities taking place there, is pretty high. (That is the worst to me)

With that said, I will like to mention, that there are a lot of abandoned building in this our Lagos state Nigeria. while there are equally a lot if homeless fellows in need of a roof over their head. Buildings that should be used to improve revenue production of the Country, have been abandoned for years. Most of them have Owners living outside the Country only coming home to use it only when in Nigeria, while the rest, no one ever comes to it. And when you try to inquire the reason why this is so, it is basically the same answer that you get. “The case is in court” or  “The owner has been taken to court”.

Abandoned buildings
Abandoned buildings

You see people in desperate need of a shop space in big markets like Balogun or Eko Market on the island with no success. Since it is one of the internationally recognised markets, It has people from all over the Country, converging there to buy and sell. For this reason, everyone is looking to have space there. I have counted up to 5 sky scraper in that Particular market, That has no one in them. It is incredibly surprising when you investigate the number of unconcluded court cases involving buildings in Lagos state. Why though? Why can’t courts conclude cases before completely abandoning it to move to the next one? This is one of the factors that is enabling the Lagos crime rate and corruption. People have defrauded unsuspecting victims, selling abandoned buildings that is not there’s. Abandoned buildings are used to harm citizens on a daily basis, and most city law makers in some countries, have taken it upon themselves to purge their cities of Abandoned buildings.

If the owner is not ready to leave there, then he or she is made to rent the building out, or even sell it, for the good of the surrounding buildings.

Abandoned buildings
Abandoned buildings

An outrageous statistics of People are homeless, not because they can’t rent a house in Lagos, but because they haven’t been able to fine themselves a house to rent. If half the number of abandoned buildings in Lagos are rehabilitated and rented out, the situation of the city will be proved. The rate of poverty in the land, has forced a lot of people to live in an abandoned building, mostly uncompleted, with make shift windows and doors. I once came across a woman who used to live in an abandoned building when I was in the university, I asked her if they stay there for free since it hasn’t been completely in any way. And she surprised me, telling me that they pay rent almost as significant as the people who live in complete and well furnished buildings. And I was surprised to learn that.

The Governor of Lagos state, Akinwunmi Ambode, has more than he bargained for on his plate, since assuming office. He has been fixing up roads, decorating the State, and erecting historical structures. But we will like for him to look into the case of abandoned building in the City of Lagos if that is in any way possible. Because a lot of Governors have come and gone, but abandoned building stand the taste of time.

Oby Oriji safety: As seen by a road user.

Car on three legs seen in Lagos

Have you ever thought of something, and then you stop yourself from going further with the thought, because things like that can only happen in cartoons and dreams?

Well, don’t stop yourself anymore, because they can happen in real life. This is the photo of a car on three wheels while the fourth one is running on a roller. The disturbing part of this, is that we have many uniformed men standing on their duty post, in the name of keeping road users safe from hoodlums who run other people into danger due to irresponsible action while they drive.

Even though many have accused the uniform men of not doing their jobs, while others have said otherwise, this picture eludes me. That something this disturbing is freeing happening without fear of impunity. Take a good look at this photo guys. This is dangerous in every sense of the word.

Obyorijiblogmas: The five things Nigeria Bachelors are mostly afraid of in December.

Christmas bachelors

It is almost Christmas guys, and while the girls are waiting for the eligible bachelors from the diaspora  to come and sweep them away from the home based boys who are not decisive enough to put a ring on that finger, the boys are also having their own fear of living through the month, and surviving the tension. They might look very well put together and unbothered in public, but deep down, these are what bothers them the most in the month of December.

.PAY WEEK:

While the month of December rushes to an abrupt end to everybody’s dismay, the bachelors worry mostly  about when  their much anticipated pay gets to their bank account. Guys who having been saving all through the year, still have a heightened anticipation for their December  pay and bonus. Some people have planned the arrival of their pay right from the beginning of the month, that when it gets delayed even for a week, they are the most upset. So most guys hope to get their pay when they have planned to get it and need it the most. Their fear is when it goes the other way.

When it goes the other way, it hurts because you have family and friends calling you right from 3rd December to wish you a merry Christmas, Just To make  sure that they’d make it to your ultimate Christmas list . This is because in Nigeria, we have only one list, and that list is the ‘send you account detail’ list.

After the money is eventually gotten, the next problem will be splitting it amongst the people you have in mind to help this Christmas. Another fear gets up when you have less money than the list of people you have on your help list.

. RIGHT GIFT TO BUY FOR WHICH GIRL?

While many are planning on  how to make the very serious decision on how the mode of transport to travel on, others are deciding the right time to go shopping for Christmas just to have the cheapest prices, Some guys are deciding  where the family will spend the Christmas, While a bachelor somewhere is deciding what gift to get his girlfriend, another one is deciding what girl has been good enough to deserve a gift.

Guys with a hand full of girlfriends fear the most in December. According to what I have been told, many bachelors in Nigeria break up with their girlfriends when it is Christmas because they are avoiding getting her a gift, or even giving her the Impression that they are not  serious enough to spend Christmas together. This can’t happen  talk more of meeting the parents during a Christmas family lunch. So when girls don’t get gifts from their boyfriends,it  simply means that you didn’t make the cut. He has gone with a different girl for reasons best known to him, and for that, I am sorry.

.EXPECTATION FROM FAMILY MEMBERS

In as much as single girls dread any festive period that will bring the family together, automatically meaning that  those fearless Aunties will ask you when you plan to invite them to come eat rice and sip on some drinks at their wedding, they need to know that The guys also have the same problem because Nigerians love weddings.  When a guy is old enough to settle down, especially in the Igbo land, he is also not off the hook. Family members come for him in all direction with the question of  who they are deciding  to style with, and when they intend to introduce them to her.

This is the festive period, it is when parents especially mothers,  introduce their sons to the maiden that has found Favour before their eyes all through the year. Young ladies rush to run errands for that brother that has just arrived from the United States or the United Kingdom. They offer to show him around the village for no reason, they offer to keep him company while he is seeing a movie in a family house full of family members (he is clearly not lonely girlfriend) .  This is the time when girls bring out their cooing skill to the glory of their family, to charm one bachelor of the other. Bachelors are officially placed under pressure by literally every one that surrounds him in December. Friends ask you if you like her, parents ask you if you love her, and you ask yourself if you can tolerate her.

.THE ‘AIN’T IT ‘RETURNEES:

This is the group that the Nigerian bachelors fear the most.  The young eligible guys who returned from diaspora to spend Christmas with their families in Nigeria, are known to be the takers of every body’s girlfriend. They come with smooth accent, looking so confidence and healthy, that all Nigerian girls notice them easily.

They come back to he country single, but take home a bride to the U.S. So, the Nigerian based bachelors don’t take it likely with them ‘ain’t it boys’. They single handedly give a heart attack to their counterpart Who have been holding down things while they are away.

.MEETING THE GIRL’s FAMILY.

This is the time when guys run out of their mind, trying to come up with the mode reasonable excuse to dodge going to see the parents of their girlfriends, because they are avoiding the ‘what Is your plan with my daughter’ question, that responsible parents ask. This is when the girls will know if their boo is ready to make it permanent, or he is basically just going to keep posting until he finds another boo.

Christmas is the right time for women to read the body language of their boyfriends, which in turn scares the heck out of these guys.

So, after the fear of their girls being stolen, the next is thing they fear is making it serious with the girl.

ObyOrijifitnessblogmas: Maintaining a flat belly this Christmas season

Christmas

We all are super excited to have this years Christmas arrive. Words can sparsely explain the excitement filled in the hearts of the adults and children of the world. Some being so naughty, and others pretending to be nice while being intensely mean. I for one will be interested in the naughty peopl if I am made Santa for a day.  *just saying*

Christmss in Nigeria is known for one thing. If we are being sincere, it is  Food, food and food. And for every  one who has been good enough to maintain an Ok body through out the year, Christmas is always a time of trials and  temptation. You have relatives and family members who you haven’t seen in a while, friends and siblings who have the choicest gist for you concerning people you all know. In the midst of all these, you are completely going to let down your guard, and eat things that you are not suppose to, because everything will look incredible delicious and attractive to you when you are happy to be in the midst of those you love. So how do we help our selves in this trial periods of Christmas.

Helping the belly

For one, we will try not  eat all day and all night just because there is good every where.

. When in the midst of people who will make you forget your weight consciousness, always remember that heavy food consumption ends with the day. Which means that it ends when the day ends. When night falls, do not let any heavy food into you mouth. Go for liquids, fruits, and light snacks, tea and bread.

.My Nigerian compatriot should specifically be mindfully with the constant intake of Eba and delicious  Nigerian soups.

. Do not completely neglect your workout routine. Instead of letting family members distract you, you should see them as an encouraging factor. They should join you in your workout, not stopping you from doing the right thing. But remember,  Simple ones first. Exercise to start with, are the easy one though.

Simple belly workouts

First step: Lay on your back, stretch out your legs and have your Hands by your side.

Lift your pair of legs (both legs) from the floor half way up, forming an angle with your upper body, forming a capital letter L. And take them back to the ground together immediately.

Lift Both legs and drop them  back down 20 times, which means counting up and down as one, for 20 times. Touching your toes as the come up to your face. The left hand will touch the right leg’s toes when it comes up, while the right hand will touch the left toe’s when it comes up.

Do five batches of  20 lifts (up and down = 1 count), making it 100 counts.

20 up and down =1 batch

100 up and down= 5 batches

REMEMBER, Do it 5 times, which is 5 batches

This is called the Touch your toes move, and it is very efficient in flattening your tummy. This is because it flexes your belly muscle, keeping them active, when they grind the fat away in the process. So this is simple and efficient. If you are determined enough, you can do even more than hundred counts, and probably do it morning and night.

Invite your mother, daughter, sister, friend, cousins, and so on, to come join you for some moral support. You might even make a bet just to keep their interest on it. Place a bet to get their attention. Feel free to tell me how it went, cos I will appreciate some pictures And stories.

The problem of ‘Nigerian churches and no free school’ has broken my heart for a long time.

We plan anyway

So I just heard a mind blowing story about he unbelievable, humongous, outrageous, incredibly high amount of dollars and Nairas creeping into the churches of Nigeria. I can’t even believe that with all these money mentioned, that these churches still have poor Members in them, like intensely poor members.  This is even harder for me to think that they don’t have free schools, homes for their members yet.  I tried to find the name of a free school for church that could be owned by these expensive churches. I have not been able to do that even uptill,.   This led to me sitting and reminiscing the life of the initial missionaries who brought the gospel to Africa. These guys had free schools for converts, which you can’t find now, free lunch for children  at school, and didn’t even have half as much charity as we have today. Charity has been funding churches, generous individuals of the society have been sponsoring the church, and wealthy members of theses churches including the poor ones who have been compelled just to have s good sense of belonging. But the rich have so far, been kind enough to donate huge sums of money to the church at every time the pastor asks.

We Will at least cut down on the poking done to churches if they can at least have free schools for members . Not the society this time around, just the children of members who clearly are struggle through live. I honestly would love to have this come to pass just for the poor I our midst who are either too shy to say, or too deep in the make believe world to say they need help. Because of the intense poverty eating deep into members of Christian-doom, I will really love for them to be at least considered.

Please don’t tell  your members that whenever they are going through a rough time, that they are being manipulated by the devil. That is a bid clear path to insincerity. We are all humans, which means that we will have trials and tribulations from life.

Statements like these have made it hard, and even stopped Christians who are going hard times, to confined in churches, which thereby stops them from being helped. If we were encouraged enough to run to the church when ever we are going  through a bad era of life like the pioneering churches did, then we won’t have this high number of poverty stricken people in the church, who are resolving to a life crime instead. Robbery, rituals, amongst others.

It is clear that most of these churches have a higher chances at closing down, than having a free school built for its suffering members. We don’t practice what we preach in this part of the world. we find it very easy to just talk from  now till tomorrow, telling people what they already know, instead of going to places  the gospel has not gotten to yet, who need the money for basic things of life like water, food, clothes, more than we need them for cars, aircrafts, and vacation. So, since we can’t have a free school,  How about we just drastically cut down the fees that these schools charge church members of the Society. What they charge Christians, and Jesus lovers of this world. Gullible members should please  get a grip and pay direct school fees to the needy, and the less previledge of our world.

What you should know before choosing a Glass or Wooden center table.

Glass versus Wood

A Beautiful Sitting room furniture decision.

Making a beautiful centre piece in your home is very vital. A sitting room to be precise, is where you sit down with family and friends for a TV time, gist with others, and is one of the most important thing for every fashion forward human. Your sitting room gives the first impression to friends and visitors. The neatness first, the decorations, and the furniture. Speaking of furniture, what is the best material for your centre table? The very first piece that draws attention to its self whenever a visitor walks into your living space.

Which material do you  think best suits your centre table, glass or wood? Don’t be in a haste to make a decision until you have read the good and bad.

GLASS:  Glass being a reflective surface tends to outshine the rest while they are considered all being considered the best materials.

The good part of choosing glass is that it shines  elegantly as a center piece, it makes modern a subtle sitting room. It is so beautiful.

The bad part of choosing glass is that it gets easily scratched , with kids in a home, it is becomes a dangerous time bomb, waiting to explode. This means that you can gave it broken, and act as a weapon on the kids. Next is that it requires consistent wiping, as the surface easily shows dust settlement. The next is that glass expires. And when it does, it simply breaks.

WOOD: When choosing wood, a lot us put into consideration. it is considered one of the oldest materials for man’s tools. It dates back to the primitive times. In every sitting room today, no matter the race,  Country and Continent, a piece of wooden material is definitely found in a home.

The good thing about wood is that it lasts long, safe for kids, depending on what was made with it. It requires cleaning, but not as frequent as glass does. Different beautiful items are now being made on a daily basis with technological advancement. It is smooth, treated, and long lasting for a home. Unless broken, they have the capacity to last for a very long time depending on its frequent use.

From our little chat, you can now make your decision based on these characteristics I have made available.

The unbelievable statement a very prominent GLO man tried to use to get laid.

Inappropriate pick up lines

You guys know that I am definitely not about to say that I haven’t had people hit on me almost on a dialysis basis, with different ways and tactics. some nice, others down right inappropriate. But as a lady, it is in your job description to handle them peacefully until it demands the right attention, which is when it involves an actual action, a forceful one.

So in the second quarter of the year, I was looking to fill a particular position for Glo Nigeria, so I was fortunate to meet with one of their prominent personnel who clearly was in charge of a lot of things. Probably a region and more. Right from the very moment he saw me, he showered me with compliments , for every sentence that escaped his mouth, he had a compliment afterwards. I wasn’t particular about that, since I have experienced than a lot. I started speaking to him about my intention to fill that position. But he clearly was more interested in the compliment he was sending me. For every professional inquiry I was making, he countered it with the excessive compliment . I would say “thank you” to him to quickly get back the main topic, but he would repeat things he has been saying since the conversation started.

I realised that this whole thing wasn’t going  nowhere, and instead of pretending that this right here wasn’t happening, I decided to talk about it.

Me: Sir what exactly are you going for with these statements.?”

Sir: I think you are very beautiful girl and an adult, so you must know what I am talking about, cos I am not think first person saying that to you

Me: *sighting the grey hair and and ring* But you are a married man

Sir: Ofcourse I am happily married, which  I intend to remain be for a long time.

Me: That is disrespectful to your wife

Sir: *Laughs* how na.? It is just sex nothing more.I just want to get a piece of you

Me: if your marriage is as happy as you said, why are you looking outside for adultery?

Sir: it is not adultery, it is just quenching my urge. You see, there is a difference In these things. If I just want to have sex with a girl just to get my mind off it, then it is called Fling. That one is not adultery. Adultery is when you have series of sex with one girl or more than one girl many times.

Can you guys imagine the statement coming from a very prominent man? This is the mindset of a full grown Nigerian adult . He has the definition of what is Adultery to him and what is not. I turned down the sex, and now I have been told that the position is no longer available, as against what I was told initially. This labour market and sex, can not be separated. Banks, firms, and companies are flooding with adultery and promiscuity. Don’t be deceived by the suits and tie, and professional shirt and skirt, woman and men are all in this together. As the year draws to an end, I just felt the need to share this with you guys…

What were they thinking when they used this picture?

Kidnapper Evans family pic

The Federal Executive Council retreat on education at the state house which was held in Abuja, was termed successful, as it had in attendance the influential and significant compatriot of the Country to make the right decision towards the education of Nigerian kids.

However, This wasn’t the order of the day, as the crying picture used to depict distress call for attention on education  was non other than that of Nigerian famously caught kidnapper Evans’ wife and children crying .

The family of Evans crying to the federal government of Nigeria all the way from Ghana, as they made a quick getaway before the Kidnapper was napped by the Nigerian police.

The history surrounding that particular picture which made it funny to Nigerians,  will explain the reason why it is so weird that they used it at such a prestigious event.

So earlier this year, at about  the second quarter of 2017,  A famous and notorious  kidnapper was caught unexpectedly by the police in Lagos Nigeria. People were complaining of the drastic rise in kidnap acts, the airport pickups, and even s random road side abduction. Kidnappers were all over the busy street of Lagos,  haunting for unsuspecting victims who boarded a bus, and tricycle,or just driving their personal cars. The case scared  a lot of people to cutting down on their evening outings in Lagos. People restricted  movements at night, took note of the happenings around them, in other for them to tell when something was seriously wrong.

But luckily for them, The Nigerian police dropped everyone’s jaws when they  intelligently caught this most dreaded Kidnapper Evans. People rejoiced for the fact the police outdid themselves, impressing the whole country when they caught Evans. Somehow, Evans was said to have allegedly gotten a whisper of the intended invade the police was about to serve on  him and his resident, so he quickly moved his family to Ghana so he can face the wrath alone *funny”* He was dragged throw the internet, newspapers and the country.

But his wife denied ever knowing what he did for a living,  even though he showered her with gifts and all other stuff. She gathered up her kids who were obviously well trained in that dramatic cry aspect. They did while begging Nigerians and PMB to release Evans after, saying he was a good man who made a mistake by turning into a cultist. Saying he is a good christian, that he has never killed anyone. No body eventually paid them any heed, as Evans was led into prison for a lengthy period of time.

them using this particular picture, makes it even funnier. They basically trying to kill two birds with one stone.

So guys, last week, we the girls planned a weekend get away for this weekend. I have been plotting, calling, and buying things for this weekend. All the time I have been hearing of La Campagne resort, I had no idea that it was that far away from down town Lagos. We drove for so long that I thought we were in Osun state. They had informed tourist over the internet that the journey should be expected to last for over two hours. Precisely 2 hours: 40minutes, but we sure drove more than that. We left Lagos around past nine, to dodge the traffic, we succeeded in doing that, and even with the traffic, we still had the time surpas what we were told.

So we finally arrived at La Campagne, and concluded that the end was worth the means. We were greeted by mind calming palm trees right from Amen Estate which happen to be on the same street as the resort.  Being from the east, it reminded me of my peaceful childhood days. So while we arrived, we saw polite members of staff, rejuvenating environment, after paying 6k each other to gain access, we walked all the way down to the beach. I immediately noticed that their statutes were creepy. LOL.. The lion in particular. I noticed how many staff the hack and how beautiful they looked in the Ankara uniforms. They were generous during the planting because that resort was beautified with palm trees.

The beach water was super clean, the sand was Impeccably neat because the staff took time to ensure it. The pool was do clean, even though the base was painted blue. I was impressed when I noticed that they intentionally used locally sourced, biodegradable natural materials for their items. We were advised not to kill insects of animals, that too was incredible. Such an impressive place. A lot of companies we were told, always had their picnics there. We saw chevron staffs there holding a picnic. I will not bore you with words since pictures say a thousand words.

Girl on fire

Nike will name one of its new buildings after #SerenaWilliams, set to open in 2019.”

Just when Serena thought the year couldn’t get anymore awesome, she fit the news that Nike will be naming one of its buildings in 2019 after her. How awesome is that? Plus she misspelt her ‘then’ and wrote ‘than’. But whatever the case, my girl is on fire. This is the kind of use I will be having in 2018. I can’t wait. 2018 will be liteeeee.
