#Shocking: 1,400 pounds of #sharkfins intercepted in #Miami Airport

Screenshot_20200216-184521

The people who are constantly going after all these wild animals are just as weird as the actually market that purchase it. Could it be that there is a delicacy for shark fins? Is there a part of Miami where they consume this cuisine? Come in here Miami men and women and help clarify this new one.

Formular1 Star Lewis Hamilton was devasted to learn the news so much so that he reposted it on his Instagram handle.. With the market value being estimated at a whopping $1million in the market.

When you take out the fin of a shark, it is basically handicapped. Then you either kill it, or leave it to die slowly and become a prey to other stronger aquatic animals. Do you know what it actually means to have 1400 pounds of only shark fins? then you should wonder how many sharks must have sacrificed their find for this..

Legendary #Countrygirl #Dollyparton sets off a #Socialmedia #meme trend

Let me tell you something. One of the people on Earth who I respond “How high” when they say “jump”, is the one and only Dollyparton. so when she innocently posts a social media collage of Twitter, LinkedIn, tinder and instagram, all I did was smile at the speed of responses she got from the people who consider her an icon.

Dolly is a whole mood when it comes to her skills and composure in Hollywood. She is my favourite girl. The Zac Efron one is Soo E..

Disturbed by the #Australianfires #Lewishamilton donates $500k to Australian fire service

lewishamilton-1578596790465

Reposted from @lewishamilton – It saddens me deeply to know that over 1 billion animals in Australia died a painful death, no way out, not their fault. My love of animals is no secret and I can’t help but grieve for the defenceless animals thought to have died so far, pushing certain species closer to extinction. I’m lucky enough to visit Australia often and I know first-hand how beautiful the country is. Keep fighting Australia. I’ve spent some time speaking to people in Australia who are working at the heart of this and I’m filled with admiration for everything they are doing.

I implore you to join me in thinking about the impact we are having on our planet. Let’s work together to make small changes, and encourage our family and friends to do the same, so we can help shift the direction we’re going in.

I’m donating $500K to support @wireswildliferescue @wwf_australia and the Rural Fire Services. If you are able and haven’t already, you can donate too. Every little helps.

from @lewishamilton – Focus on what you love doing. Set your sights and dreams high. Don’t ever let somebody tell you you can’t or you’re not good enough. You need to believe (if you really aren’t good at it then you need to be realistic too) nobody can do it for you, only help along the way but you are going to have to do the heavy lifting! Let’s set our sights higher for 2020, never backing down! I believe in you and so should you! #letsgo #believeinyourself

Reposted from @lewishamilton (@get_regrann) – Surfing into the new year, one of my favourite things to do. There is much to do, so much to see. Much work is ahead of us but I try to set my sights high on things which most people would say are impossible, envision it and work to manifest them. What are YOU going to do to make the difference for you this year? #believeinyourself – #regrann

In His Mercies, God sends rain to assist the fighters of #Australiafires

nowspacetime-1578479488396

Isn’t he God? And is there anything he can’t do? Well we are grateful for his change of heart, pity in humanity, and gift of rain.

Reposted from @nowspacetime – Nearly 200 fires are still burning across the entire country of Australia, with smoke spreading across thousands of miles — affecting places as far as New Zealand, where ash has turned glaciers yellow.

More than 15 million acres of land has been scorched — 7x the 2019 Amazon fires and 3x the 2018 California fires. The death toll has climbed to at least 24 people and more than 1,200 homes have been destroyed.

It’s estimated that 8000 koalas (one third of the koala population in New South Wales) have been killed –– a figure that is feared to be even higher as the fires continue. Due to their slow movement, koalas are more at risk as they’re unable to escape the flames.

These are the devastating effects of anthropogenic climate change. This is the slaughter of life, the destruction of nature and the loss of hope. Let’s make 2020 the year that we stand up for the climate. It’s time to speak up for the voiceless and take action for what is right.

Thankfully, conditions are beginning to ease as firefighters are gaining control over several dangerous fires. The awareness shared through social media has helped raise tens of millions of dollars, money which will help aid first responders and animal rescuers to do all they can to put an end to this nightmare.

The horror of the Australia fires is spreading like it’s name implies. With the destruction yet unaccertained and still counting, the world is just now coming to terms with the extent of ruin this fire must now have caused in the motherland of life itself.

Actress and wife to Keith Urban Nicole kidman, yesterday revealed that she is now donating to the rural fire service the whopping sum of half a million dollars, to encourage their will and power with the right equipment and protection suitable for nature’s horror. Thank you Nicole, and the rest if you people who have decided to help out.

Sudden Repentance : A #Babyelephant 🐘 gets rescued In Nigeria

instablog9ja-1573328225203

I never thought a day like this would come for me to be making a post about Nigerians having a change of heart and repenting from their incessant consumption of lost and scared animals of both aquatic and terrestrial.🐘🐘🐘🐘🚫🐘🐘🐘🐘🛑

This is what I have been talking about on this blog. Don’t get me wrong, Ofcourse I don’t expect for them to let go / free off every and any animal that they come across in this country, this is majorly due to the high level of Poverty that has left everyone riding on their last survival nerve. 🛑🐘🚫🐘🚫🐘🐘

At this stage people will want to survive before rescuing animals and helping to curb the rate of extinction. But not all eaten animals solves your problem. This baby elepnat might look larger than most other animal babies, but that doesn’t stop it form being a baby elephant.🐘🐘🐘🛑🐘🐘🚫

It is too young for consumption and not right in eyes of some religion. So while we try to always say it is infact hunger that supercedes everyother thing, this is Nigeria and we know that religion is very paramount to us here, so form now on, I will start battling the disturbing rate of animal concumotion in this country with one religious quote or the other.🛑🐘🐘🚫🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘❤️🐘🐘❤️🐘🐘❤️

With that being said, we will like to thank the Edo State people for deciding in unism to save this Abby elephant and take it to a safe haven I think.. 👏👏👏👏👏🐘🐘

Tourism threatens the very existence of Komodo Dragons in Indonesia —- #nytimes

leonardodicaprio–1567235637944

Reposted from @leonardodicaprio – #Regram #RG @nytimes Komodo dragons resemble dinosaurs that missed their cue for extinction, but environmentalists worry an invasion of tourists to their island lair could bring them to a similar fate. The 10-foot lizards are native only to a scattering of islands in Indonesia, and while Komodo tourism generates significant cash for one of the country’s poorest regions, it has also brought piles of trash, human encroachment and occasional lizard smuggling. Like other tourist destinations around the world, from Venice to the Galápagos, Komodo National Park is at risk of being wrecked by its own popularity. Some environmentalists worry that the stampede of visitors has set the ecosystem off kilter, and local leaders aim to close the island of Komodo, where the largest population of dragons lives, for at least a year. Even residents would have to leave. “If we don’t give the dragons their habitat, they will be extinct within the next 50 to 100 years,” the island’s deputy governor said. @adamjdean took these photos.

ClimateChange Disaster: Raging Fire grazes through Brazil’s Amazon rainforest

c.syresmith-1566413613398

Credit to from @cnn  – Follow ➡️ @cnnclimate ➡️ Fires are raging at a record rate in Brazil’s Amazon rainforest, which is roughly half the size of the US and produces 20% of the oxygen in Earth’s atmosphere 🌎 Scientists warn that if fires continue at this rate, the rainforest that has been called the planet’s “lungs” could be reduced to a dry savanna that emits CO2 rather than absorbing it. From Theshaderoom…

#Roommates, the world’s largest rainforest is currently ablaze with no end in sight. Brazil’s Amazon Rainforest is reportedly burning at the highest rate since the National Institute for Space Research began tracking it in 2013. Now, scientists worry this could be a major setback in the fight against climate change.

According to @cnn, the Amazon is often referred to as the earth’s lungs because it is responsible for the production of 20% of the oxygen in the earth’s atmosphere. There have been almost 730,000 fires in Brazil this year, with more than half in the Amazon region.

The rainforest is the largest rainforest on the planet, measured at almost half the size of the United States. According to reports, smoke from—click the link in our bio to read more! (📸: @ecohealthnyc)

How Thailand is Single handedly preventing the extinction of Tigers on Earth — Leonardo Dicaprio

leonardodicaprio-1564519753233

from @leonardodicaprio  – In Thailand’s Huai Kha Khaeng (HKK) Wildlife Sanctuary, tigers are roaring back thanks to a major long-term effort by the government of Thailand, supported by @thewcs. As a result, tiger numbers in the sanctuary have risen dramatically, from 41 in 2010-11 to 66 today – a more than 60 percent increase. In addition, tigers moving beyond boundaries of the sanctuary are providing a foundation for a recovering population across the entire Western Forest Complex of Thailand, with benefits even spilling over across the border into the Taninthayi region of Myanmar. #GlobalTigerDay

October Visitor: Finland University bird, migrates to Jigawa for the winter.

instablog9ja-1541164413176

These birds cover distances that a plane collect thousands of hard currency to reach, except that this one took a  serious risk by coming to this part of the world instead of hitting it to a different part. I guess in this cold winter,  Africa is a good place to travel to for warmth. This whole goodness centers around a Western Osprey (Pandion Haliaetus) owned by the University of Helsinki, Finland, which we aren’t yet sure if it escaped or simply was let into the wild. But a good head on the neck individual  has released it into the wild after being caught in Jigawa State.

According to one Abubakar S. Ringim, a Zoologist, the bird was caught on 25/10/2018, at Malam Madori, Jigawa. A tracker found on it, showed that it left Finland, 109 days earlier and had covered 5808km during it’s winter migration. (How determined is that?)

However, after being celebrated by the locals, it was released at the Baturiya Wetland Reserve in Jigawa, for it to have a safe winter exit from Finland and summer time in Nigeria. We only hope it is smart enough to simply stick to the trees and don’t bother hopping on the ground, which might lead to its demise.  We wish you a hassle free stay here birdie.

The last male Northern white rhinoceros in the world has died.

Screenshot_20180320-171620

A really sad thing has occurred yet again  for humans on earth, as the last male Northern white rhinoceros in the world died on Monday, March 19th 2018, after a battle with infection. According to getty image, The animal was named ‘Sudan’ according to his birth country, and the death, leaves the world with only just two living northern white rhinoceroses, and leaves the species one step closer to extinction.

I wonder if Scientist will do their magic to this specie like they normally do, to extract the sperm (which he hopefully produced) from Sudan, and have it inserted artificially into the remaining females to have them continue the linage and prevent extinction like we all fear.

Can the world handle anymore of these extinctions? We need all our animals alive and in battle with us. This is sad for the climate. To lose another one to time and civilization is just sad.
