Congolese singer, Koffi Olomide, has been found guilty of the statutory rape of one of his dancers.
A French court handed the crooner a two-year suspended jail sentence, yesterday, for sexually assaulting the dancer when she was aged 15.
The ruling was made in absentia as the 62-year-old controversial singer failed to attend the court session.
He was ordered to pay the former dancer, $5,700 in damages. The ruling means Olomide only faces arrest if he commits further offenses. – #obyorijiblog
Whoever handled this case and even found this famous African man guilty, must be commended. In Africa, a famous figure is hardly wrong, but an elderly famous figure is incredibly perfect and never to be Judge for any reason.
You know these men are the employers of their dancers, and they become so powerful in their head that they begin to see this dancers as their slave.
That’s the evil that these men for in their youth, that hunts them in their old age. At least the your lady got her self some form of justice. Ain’t no Shane in that.
I was in a car with some men when they mentioned this issue during the afternoon news, and the men said “Just because she is 15 doesn’t mean she is small.” They said some 15 year olds are so physically mature.
People form their own perspective based on the relationship they have with the victims of an issue. I you are related, then you revolt, if not you encourage.
