Lassa-fever-653×365

With some dead in Ondo fir the same case, 8 others have lost their lives to same Lassa fever in Plateau State Nigeria.

Dr Kuden Kamshak, the Plateau health commissioner, confirmed that eight persons have been  killed by Lassa Fever, after the 40 cases recorded across the state .

Kamshak made the disclosure on Thursday, during the Agenda for Social Behavioural Communication Committee (SBCC), Review Meeting, held in Jos.

He described the situation as worrisome, and declared that government was working round the clock to curb the spread of the disease.

The commissioner, who was represented by Mr Michael Pam, Director of the ministry’s Public Health Department, said that health officers had been deployed o various areas to curtail the situation so as to save lives.

He warned members of the public against the danger of rodents, and cautioned against indiscriminate handshakes.

Earlier, Hajia January Bello, Risk Communicator, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), had said that Lassa Fever was as deadly as Ebola.

Lassa Fever is as deadly as Ebola. It is very devastating, he said.

She advised members of the public to inculcate the habit of personal and environmental hygiene to ward off contact with the disease.

The risk communicator said that there were only four Lassa laboratory centres in Nigeria, while only two hospitals Bingham University Teaching Hospital and Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) treat the disease.

According to her, the laboratory centres are located in Edo, Lagos and Kaduna States, and the FCT Abuja.

My Opinion

If you know you have rodents activities in your house that you have been ignoring for a while,  due to the fact that you have no time,  or that they have not caused you any harm just yet.

Know that they will be the same to come in contact with your edible and poison it, creating this horrible situation.

The number of over weight rats in my estate, that are on 24 hours duty in the trash cans,  are enough to run the whole Lagos City down with the influenza.

I really hope the spread of this deadly disease will get curbed and stopped.

Extinction: Thousands of Lions, Leopards and Elephants killed by humans summed up.

-1544977485525

@jemu_mwenda – A LIE IN:

KILL TO SAVE
Am only a few years old,but one of the injustices i have found with us humans,is when we place money in the hands of people to get a right to kill an animal,Not for anything else but to satisfy our ego. With all the greed and rapacity with men,it’s channel of benefiting off the blood of innocent beings,Drowned in prejudice and ego the killers carry away the “skulls” don’t assume I don’t know they call it trophy,to hang in their walls that reminds them of their commitment to increase the extinction of species.

The members of a species that are strong, healthy and carry strong genetic traits are targeted,Loads of cash paid and trigger pulled to bring them down,to the hunting firms and it’s affiliates they regard the returns support conservation precisely the communities, something I utterly disagree.Hunting for these reasons is one of the ways to prove mans crookedness and his inability to correctly handle what he was mandated to protect.

The only justice for sport-hunting would be if the quarry itself received the cash and sighed to die to save others, which isn’t possible.Their rights and justice being held in the hands of those who claim to own them.In the 19ths century there where hundreds of rhinos roaming and they thought careful introduction of such a sport would be fun, animals would just be shot at and their ferocity due to the pain of bullets and arrows gave them titles as the “big five”

Now today I and my colleagues wake up everyday to watching these last two Rhinos known of their kind.Ashamedly even as of now this vice of hunting still continues,Having witnessed the dark side of extinction I wish such people could swallow their ego and stop killing a being that can never defend itself. When you pay that money and pull that trigger, you undermine the rights of their existence, apparently their justice will be spoken in ways unheard by us! And it will be fatal.
May the Trophies on their wall hang to ashame and always remind them that they are murderers.
The greatest shame on a man/woman is when one has to kill a voiceless being to quench their ego,how would a human dare to prove ego to an animal literary.

Botswana comes under fire for killing a large number its elephants to make money

jemu_mwenda-1536059704384

from @jemu_mwenda – Nearly 90 elephants? Sorry Botswana.Greed is overturning the world and completely changing humans into monsters.
May they all who take advantage of animals never enjoy the fruits of their massacre and betrayal, may all the wealth that they get through sacrificing innocent beings evaporate like mist, may the blood and painful death of these God created creatures follow them back for vengeance, may the food they place at the table at the expense of wildlife never satisfy them.

May they never enjoy peace,May prosperity and good living run from them like a man fleeing from an attacking elephant, may the cry of orphaned baby animals reach the heavens and bring vengeance to their killers, may loneliness and emptiness follow them, may they eat and never be full! May the pain that these animals go through speak through to their cars, families and well being.

May their death find them like the the way these Elephants find their premature deaths.Whether they shoot for profit or pay to shoot,May their grins turn to grieve and their pleasure to kill turn to regrets.

How i wish the sacredness and sanctity of these beautiful creatures life would evade them and convict them of their evils.May the mercy of a dying animal from the sharp pains of a bulle or arrow touch them and change their sport-fun minded quest and attitude.

The agony and pain of death of our today’s fauna, might not be heard by us the contemporary beings, but it is the future generations who will feel the weight of their absence.their tears and massacre will be an emptiness so profound that it will cost them a great deal for their lives.

REST IN PEACE OUR ELEPHANTS.shine on your way,we are here fighting our best hoping that sanity will take its toll over our fellow beings and help realize what essentially we are loosing in the name of our immediate needs!

Nigerians yet again kill and eat a large aquatic animal that lost its way.

obyoriji-1535053726364

What exactly is our problem is this country? We are quick to point fingers at our leaders but individually we have big problems. Why are you people killing and eating every single land and sea animal that you come across? What level of short mindedness has eaten deep into us like this? Everything is about share it here and now let’s eat.
No body wonders about the future anymore. I have lost count of the animals that would have helped our epileptic tourist attraction, that have ended up in the belly of small minded individuals. This one has joined its brothers yet again. This is becoming intensely motifying. @muhammadubuhari @bukolasaraki .

It is a real problem that needs to be revisited because as individuals we have already developed a way that clearly involves taking your share of the public/national cake. No one every wonders if it will benefit more people if  they can just  put the public funds into the use it was meant for. Right from the leadership level down to the babies. The moment something involves a common goods that no one particularly owns, then people will bring out their inner greed and fight to the last. That’s why they steal public funds and nothing is done about it except for Buhari who is selectively punishing the criminals who are in the opposite club and not the ones in his own club (APC). So in the case of people  coming across an aquatic animal that lost its way,  and attack it, kill it, and share it among the community,  it is a big issue in this part of the world, where we are referred to as the third world, instead of using the animals to improve our tourist attraction. It is shameful and disheartening.  Short sighted minds only consider what they can gain right now.

The number of times Nigerians have senselessly killed valuable wildlife just to eat them.

instablog9ja-1528494459886

These pictures depict the numbers of times Nigerians and Africans in various states took the life of wild animals that many considered valuableto a thinking citizen.

The family of apes is the hardest for me to watch. Many others are saying thug the rats of poverty caused this behaviour. Finding yourself in a situation where you need to eat something or anything just to remain alive, you will have no luxury of considering the environment or even benefit of tourism to them. This is saddening to see, especially to me that believe we can cause no harm to the environment.

First timer’s what to know: Nigerian visiting America.

image

Unlike other people who will tell you legitimate things to expect when you visit America, I am going to be talking about the weird suburban part of the visit. Not the food, the people,  or the embassy, or the airport or something about not getting played or rubbed. I am talking about the sub-urban/ the bush issues. So when you go visiting the U.S, and you family or host home is fortunately not in the town/urban/down town residents, then you are fortunate enough to be in the sub urban. Sub-urban is the part of the Country that is not in the busy town. It is supposedly the part of town that the elite are found. Those who have become rich enough to determine when they can’t deal with the noise down town, so they simply relocate to the Other side of town where there are trees, woods, the tall trees and shrubs and flowers. Now,In as much as this has all the beautiful in the world, it is without doubt, not going to have the other side of things to balance it.

The people who live in places like this, have unintentionally, but due to the expansion of the human world stepped into the homes and neighbourhood of the wild life. So they always come in contact with wild animals. These animals include the very familiar but unfriendly fellow called SKUNK

Unlike Nigeria, The Skunk is so common in United States. I am not sure if it is edible, but it is so common and prominent in that country that it is considered a citizen (joking). The seemingly helpless wild animal which looks like an angry squirrel is not in fact as helpless as you may think. It is always out  the human homes to ransack their trash cans and get food for itself and its family. They are ver possessive even to the owner of the home, that is from their generations of developed guts. They are not in any way ready to share a trash can they consider theirs, with their fellow skunk or even humans. They are ok to look at, but the promo here is the fact that they have a deadly DEFENCE mechanism. While it walks up to you calmly but steadily, making you think that it is your friend, but in the real sense, it is coming closer to you to spray you with its offensive, deadly endlessly smelly scent from it’s rear end. This su known to smell so bad, that it prevents people from coming any closer to you. Now many have had this sprayed on them at least ones. It is incredibly smelly and disgustingly unbearable.

What to do to get this off you, is to have a tomatoes paste bath. They pour in high number tins of tomatoe paste  into the the bath tub, and soak themselves in it for a reasonable long time, to get it of it. Now some people have had to take this tomatoe bath more than once to get it off them.  Now this is the  other side of visiting the United States.
