“Investigate #food sources before consumption” #EndSars protesters advised while #mourning members who have lost their lives to the protest

While the End Sars protest is on going, some are on ground ensuring the physical effect is felt by the people of Nigeria, Some are on social media platforms ensuring that the hashtags go as far as possible, others are ensuring that the strength of the protesters stay renewed and refreshed.

This is why people are contributing to food vendors of All kind to cook meals are serve the youths who have remained on the street for days unending. While drinks, snacks and other kind of edibles are made available at will to the youths, the tendency to investigate the sources will drop drastically due to the need for it and the urgency of the matter.

This then creates a window for a bad food or a poisoned from an anonymous person to get to the protesters and cause them harm of any kind in order to have them end the protest in no time.

However they have been warned to investigate whatever food is brought to them, before any form of consumption. while they mourn the significant number of their members who lost their lives to the protest, they are asked to be careful with the food they consume out there while in the street.

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu, has warned police officers and their commanders against use of force on peaceful protesters.⁣ ⁣ He reiterated citizens’ rights to freedom of expression, assembly and movement, which should be protected by the police. Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), DCP Frank Mba, who disclosed this yesterday in Abuja, noted that the IGP also appealed to protesters to conduct themselves peacefully and guard their ranks against infiltration by criminal elements.⁣ ⁣ Similarly, Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria (HURIWA) has appealed to the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt-Gen. Tukur Buratai, to ensure that the improved human rights records of the army under him is not destroyed by the temptation to dabble into the national outrage against police excesses.⁣ ⁣ It said the nationwide protests against the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) are constitutional, adding that on no account should the exercise be mistaken for a threat to national security.⁣ ⁣ HURIWA also called on the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu, to release those picked up by SARS in Enugu South Council of Enugu State few hours after the disbandment of SARS.⁣ ⁣ To this end, HURIWA warned the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) to respect the rights to peaceful assembly, stressing that the FCT Minister, Mohammed Bello, had power to annul the constitutional right of the citizens to protest lawfully.⁣ ⁣ To read on, visit www.guardian.ng.⁣ ⁣ #IGP #MohammedAdamu #NigeriaPolice #EndSARSProtesters #Nigeria #News #TheGuardianNg
