Yes when I met them , they were Chloe and Halle , Chloe x Halle is their rebrand name and a wise change at that . Before the Atlanta natives hit YouTube with their cover to “Best Thing I Never had”, the girls made their debut in acting in Tyler Perry films and the big screen . Chloe played a young Lily ( Beyoncé ) in The fighting temptations as well as a small role in “Meet the browns” and Halle made an appearance as Jazmine’s friend in Meet the Payne’s. Between Disney’s next Big thing and their YouTube covers and posted performances it was easy to tell that the talent these girls possessed was something special. When I met Chloe and Halle , their mother made them change shirts because they looked “too grown” , they blanked out every bad word in the songs they covered and adorably rearranged phrases to keep their wholesome image. Their bloopers were recorded and it was easy to distinguish their personalities and their single styles that are so different yet so beautifully blended when they come together. When I met Sky and Jazz I was a little taken aback by their growth . They weren’t little girls anymore, and if their uncensored language didn’t prove it their new style did. Watching them go from “twins”that wore Similar outfits and spoke at the same time to grown women with a message and an undeniable sex appeal to match their mature voices has been an absolute joy. I remember voting for them on Disney and jumping up and down when Beyoncé signed them. Now I’m clapping with their “Grown-ish” characters when they read someone , watching in awe as their appearances go from World Tours to the Super Bowl , waiting for Halle to fill the role of Ariel and Chloe’s acting career. Wether you’ve been with them from the beginning ( and I mean when their locs were barely long enough to make a bob 😂) and Chloe’s exaggerated singing faces or you’ve been mesmerized by their recent song covers and their tv characters, be grateful you’ve gotten a front seat to absolute Black girl magic 💕Cant wait to see what the future holds for the Bailey “twins”
