Girls varsity soccer team gets penalized for wearing a jersey that says #EQUALPAY

from @cnn – Four players from a girls high school varsity soccer team in Vermont were recently penalized for peeling off their jerseys during a match to reveal a hidden message on their shirts: #EQUALPAY. The move was a nod to some players on the US women’s national soccer team who have campaigned for equal pay. Despite the penalty, the girls’ message has spread far and wide — including to former USWNT player Brandi Chastain, who tweeted her support for the team on Saturday. The girls team is selling the shirts for $25, and men are invited to pay an extra 16% to represent the wage gap, according to a co-captain. (📸: Kate Sheeser)
