Celebrities respond to the shocking stories of RKelly’s sexual abuse.

From @johnlegend –  to everyone telling how courageous I am for appearing in the doc,it didn’t feel risky at all. I believe this women and don’t give a fuck about protecting a serial child rapist. Easy decision.  Also I am happy to support the work of people like my friends at @Alongwalkhome who have been speaking out on behalf of the survivors for a long time.

from @aishathalia – R Kelly has been cancelled. For years I haven’t listened to his music and I LOVED his music. Shame on anyone who defends him. Shame on his enablers. Shame on the people victim blaming children. You can’t CONSENT as a child. That’s RAPE. Shame on people deflecting and saying “oh other famous people do it!” We aren’t talking about them right now. We are talking about HIM. I’m tired of people not believing women who are and were abused. And unless you’ve been abused you wouldn’t understand why it takes people time before they can come forward and tell their stories. At the very least, we KNOW and have PROOF his grown ass illegally married a 15 year old so I don’t know why anything else is surprising to anyone!! Shame on the parents for taking gifts in exchange for him being around their children. Our job as parents are to protect. I’m sooooooo tired of society protecting abusers. I’m tired of families protecting abusers. Shame on the individual that molested this man as well. I’m TIREDDDDDDD.
I wanted to turn the comments off because I understand that these things can be triggering to victims of abuse when watching people excuse the actions of grown men who rape children. But I understand that this is a conversation that needs to be had. So go ahead. Talk about it.
Lastly, thank you @johnlegend for your bravery. #muterkelly #survivingrkelly #sexualabuse #abuse #abusesurvivor

From @tamar Braxton #surviving RKelly’s yeah he is that BS but the rest of y’all punk assed did the work 4 him 4yo fckn benefit! Everyone stood back and watched and did nothing. Then so quick to nail Rob 2 the cross. Y’all R just as guilty in my opinion he’s reacting to his own abuse

From @MeekMill I’m not feeling R after watching that’s so much filthy shit going on in this industry nobody will ever really speak on the wild shit because most of them could have docs like this or even worst done about them.

From @chancetherapper any mention I that have black qomen in my family is deliberately missing the point . Regardless of the proximity of beneficial BE in your life, or being black yourself,we are all capable of subconsciously discrediting BW and their stories because it’s indoctrinated.

from @therealtank – I lot of artists, song writers, producers, record execs, etc are very confused as to how to respond to what they’ve seen and heard. We’ve all been inspired by this man. We’ve all been witnesses to his musical genius. We have shaped and molded talent we sign after his musical image. We’ve invested so much of ourselves into this man that it’s hard for us to let go. I no longer have that issue. I whole heartedly apologize for not coming to this realization sooner. I CANOT separate the music from the monster! My 3 black daughters won’t let me. What hurts even more are the facilitators around him. His team, his record company, the promoters, the radio stations! There has to be a line drawn. Enough has to be enough at some point. Who are we saying is worth protecting if we let this continue? I choose the lives of these young black girls! I’m sick to my stomach! Let me also say this! There are more men guilty of these crimes! Lets make sure none of them slip through the cracks every again! You are no king because kings don’t treat queens like this! #RnBMoney #TheGeneral

As an artist & a campion of the arts ,I am moved to share my position on #survivingrkelly which I haven’t seen but felt compelled to voice my position on this very serious issue since #rkelly has written songs for #b2k

Its important  first to acknowledge that this has been an ugly truth in our industry for years and as opposed to dismissing it’s existence, it’s time to discuss it.everyone has to be responsible. Many have bared witness to the unthinkable and yet have remained silent.

I pray that everyone effected by their tragedy gets help and support that they to live a better life.when you know better,  you do better.

While I know our fans would be greatly disappointed if we didn’t perform those songs on #the millennium tour, after the tour I am tiring those songs from my set list. I too am raising a future queen .#A.A.R.T. (Artiste Acknowledgin Responsibility &Truth) peace y’all ~O

From @Neyo – There is No excuse. Music is important. It really is.  But it’s not more important than protecting out children,  protecting our little girls. PERIOD.#I HAVE A DAUGHTER #Tf!?? #MuteRKELLY

From @jadapinkettsmith – I just watched Thai wuthering you daughter was tough to watch but deeply important. Its tough content but its important we have conversations with both our daughters and sons around the many issues in this docuseries. It’s well done and makes 8th clear that we gotta do better. .. in so many ways.
