Producers are benching us for those with British accent – Actress Tracy Daniels

Following  the  politics happening in nollywood right now, where actresses with foreign accent are prefered tit heir local breed counterpart.

The same issue has been taking  over the entire entertainment world and it was regularly reported, with nothing done about it. A video vixen complained of the same  thing in a video by singer TECNO.

Half of a twin and Nollywood actress Tracy Daniels has revealed why her face has been missing on the big screen in recent times.

According to Instablog, In a recent chat with vanguardnigeria, she blamed the ugly development on some notable production companies, lamenting  their discriminatory attitudes towards the home-based actors. .

According to her, apart from the fact that good scripts  have been hard to come by in recent times, most notable production companies are only featuring what she calls “UK returnee-actors” in their movies. .

Stressing further, she said “It’s so bad that the discrimination is now based on who speaks foreign accent fluently and talent is no longer the yardstick for selecting actors to feature in movies. .
.
Most of us who are based in the country have been ‘benched’ by the giant production companies simply  because  they want to cast British-trained actors to shoot Nigerian version of American superhero film, Black Panther.”

MY OPINION :

These young girls are not on any going to be making up this stories.  I know that a lot of young ladies in the entertainment industry are going through discrimination either for their skin, nationality,  race, accent, and body type. This is the reason why everyone is asked to start up something of their own. Imagine a person depending solemnly from the income from their acting job, and then sort of story is stalling them from getting to play a role. This is sad.
