Goodnews: Senate rejects bill proposing skirts for NYSC female members .

This is insignificant to the matter at hand, but I like that it has been rejected. Nobody wants to see the thighs and other private body parts of future female corpers when they are under taking all the drills and exercises. This is a no go area for you shallow minded, skirt loving, never thinking out of the box Nigerians.

The Senate on Wednesday rejected a bill proposing the option of wearing of skirts by female members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

The bill was rejected following concerns that such amendment requires altering the constitution which requires a longer process.

Soliciting support of his colleagues, Emmanuel Bwacha (Taraba-PDP) said the amendment was meant to give corps members the liberty of digressing from the rigid adherence to the NYSC uniform specification. .
In his remarks, the Deputy President of the Senate, Mr Ike Ekweremadu who presided over the proceedings, said: “I am not trying to stop the bill; even if you pass the bill, you must send it to all the states in accordance with section 9(2).” .

After a voice vote by Ekweremadu, the bill was rejected by the lawmakers.

The people who are putting forth this request, are those who must have undertaken their very own youth service. Thank God it isn’t happening, because the next one will be for female soldiers to put on skirt like the police and others. You are at a disadvantage if you have skirt on, as a uniform mam or woman.
